    Just the Facts:
    • Chrysler has announced a new round of incentives in August.
    • Deals include a $3,000 rebate on the 2010 Dodge Charger.
    • Up to $4,500 back on most 2010 Jeep vehicles is also part of the plan.

AUBURN HILLS, Michigan — Chrysler said it will continue its 60-day vehicle return policy through August and announced a new round of incentives, including rebates of up to $4,500 on most 2010 Jeep vehicles and a $3,000 rebate on the 2010 Dodge Charger.

The 60-day "pledge program" allows Chrysler buyers to return a new vehicle within 60 days if they are not satisfied with their purchase, plus the company will make the first two months' payments for the consumer. The program is available on most 2010 Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram Truck vehicles.

Chrysler also announced "additional" incentives on the 2010 Jeep Liberty, 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2010 Jeep Commander; lease bonus cash on the 2010 Chrysler Town & Country; and incentives on the 2011 Jeep Liberty, 2011 Dodge Nitro and 2011 Ram 1500 Regular, Quad and Crew Cab pickups.

For example, buyers of the 2011 Liberty are eligible for a $1,000 rebate or 1.9-percent financing for 36 months through Ally Financial. Buyers of the 2010 Ram Truck can pick from zero-percent financing for up to 60 months, a $3,000 rebate or the pledge program.

Chrysler on Tuesday reported a 5-percent year-over-year sales gain for July.

Automakers spent an average of $2,750 per vehicle sold last month in incentives, up about $65 from both June 2010 and July 2009, according to Edmunds.com. Chrysler spent $3,100 per vehicle in incentives in July, up $150.
