    • The Chrysler 300 flagship sedan has been reskinned.
    • Its new face features more chrome.
    • The SRT8 performance variant goes away in 2011.

DETROIT — Chrysler continues to parcel out details on its reskinned 2011 Chrysler 300 sedan at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show, following the release of official images just before Christmas and prices late last week.

While the powerful SRT8 edition is gone from the Chrysler 300 lineup for 2011, the revamped sedan will be offered in four trim levels: 300 ($27,995), 300 Limited ($31,995), 300C ($38,995) and 300C AWD ($41,145). Prices on the 2010 models ranged from $28,010 to $38,165.

The basic 2011 Chrysler 300 is powered by the new 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, replacing the previous 2.7-liter unit. Output of the 3.6 V6 is 292 horsepower and torque is 260 pound-feet. EPA city/highway fuel economy is 18/27 miles per gallon. The V6 is standard on the 300 and 300 Limited. The 363-hp 5.7-liter Hemi V8 is fitted to the Chrysler 300C and 300C AWD.

Chrysler said it has redesigned the front and rear suspension geometry on the 2011 models. It is also offering new safety technology, including adaptive forward lighting, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring and front and rear park assist.

Bring back the previous 300 design, PLEASE!!  That is a true American design.  The 2011 model is such a desperate copy-cat attempt that Chrysler has thrown out all creativity and shamelessly copied MERCEDES grill; AUDI headlamps; and BENTLEY rear.  Now that's one way to get out of bankruptcy:  dissed the American and imitate the European.  Give me the original 300 that says AMERICAN!

Who ever said a crappy Acura TL would be better than a Chyrsler 300C has virtually no idea what a TL is. Its a European Honda Accord with Acura badges. Its a front wheel drive car, with awd, meaning weight distribution is still very front biased, and turning radius on FWD cars is not as good. Not to mention that this car stomp on a TL anyway.....

this is a beautifully designed, elegant and sophisticated limousine...I hope it will be sold in Europe.
Maybe FIAT already left its fingerprints on the Chrysler design studio.

Has anyone figured out what the "extra" running light it, under the bumper, on the passenger side? Is a night vision camera, a radar tranciever for the adaptive cruise, or something else?

@aston_dbs, unfortunately the acura TL is a mid-sized sedan

    @lostboyz:

Pardon, perhaps I should've been more clear... I was merely just talking about the exterior style.

(Again) IMHO, $41k is a bit too much for what I see as a pretty bland design (and I hate to say this: it's a Chrysler... still not quite there yet...)

Now, I know that Chrysler does not really distinquish between 'regular' 300 with 300c/AWD

Most untrained eyes (unlike you and me) will say that M3/M5 is just another 3/5 series... But at least BMW puts some crazy (and cool) efforts to differentiate between the two (M3 vs. 3)

Going back to this 300 update, of course it all depends on individual's personal definition of what 'value' is and/or whether it's deemed worth it or not (again, personally).

Mine is Reliability, Design, and THEN Performance (I'm getting old... and I got enough tickets...)

So, this 300 may have AWD and 370 hp, but still... for my preference, it does not worth my $41k.

(Just my opinion: for regular everyday sedan for around $41k, I'll take TL SH-AWD)

ed124c, the 62TE is a fwd trans, the 8 speed ZF will be out soon to pair to this motor.

So, on the 300, the Pentastar V6 gets the old 5 speed automatic?  Most of the other 2011 Chrysler cars with that engine, according to Edmunds, come with a 6 speed auto.  What gives?

@aston_dbs, please let me know what other fully loaded full sized sedan with 370hp and awd for $40k
