2008 Geneva Auto Show: Startech Chrysler 300C

GENEVA — Startech, the Brabus affiliate that specializes in tuning Chrysler products, is using the 2008 Geneva Auto Show to unveil its new styling kit for the Chrysler 300C sedan and Europe-only wagon.

Sport springs and rear shocks give the ride a menacing stance by lowering it 1.6 inches. Custom five-spoke wheels create an elegant yet sporty look and are offered in 20- and 22-inch sizes.

The Startech SD6 tuning kit for the 3.0-liter CRD bumps the turbodiesel's output from 218 to 262 horsepower and torque from 376 to 428 pound-feet. The Startech program shaves off a few 10ths from the stock 300C's 0-60-mph time, so the sedan and wagon make the sprint in less than 7.2 and 7.5 seconds, respectively.

Both versions of the vehicle feature an aggressive full-body kit with a front spoiler, custom-tailored mounting elements with daytime running lights, a refined Startech matrix chrome grille, rocker panels with four integrated LED entry lights and a rear spoiler for the sedan.

Interior options include Startech illuminated scuff plates, aluminum shifter and pedals, an upgraded steering wheel and leather door trim and armrests. Custom leather interiors are available in mastik and Alcantara leathers, and Startech says they are "available in any color and design imaginable."

What this means to you: Startech succeeded in giving the 300C an aggressive look; if only the diesel had a bit more power to back it up. — Mike Lysaght, Correspondent
