    Neon SRT Concept

We assume this is a step beyond a regular Neon "R/T," and although we showed it in last year's SEMA coverage its new screaming yellow paint is a nice change from black. Now if Dodge would just build the car.

This concept is said to be from the DaimlerChrysler Design Studio and it features SRT front and rear fascias, SRT rocker panels and a rear spoiler all from the DC Plastic Shop. Underpinnings include Tokico struts, Eibach springs, that lower the car 1.75 inches, and 17-inch VX1 wheels from TSW.

The interior is trimmed in two-tone lapis blue and agate leather and has a carbon fiber and stainless steel hand-formed shift knob that controls a heavy-duty five-gear trans from New Venture Gear. The part we really want to see roll down the assembly line in the Neon is this machine's 2.4-liter turbocharged inline four that cranks out 210 horsepower and 230 foot-pounds of torque. That would clearly make the Neon a more formidable contender in this tightly contested market segment.

    Stratus Sport Coupe Touring Classe
Replacing the Avenger, the new Dodge Stratus is ripe for concept work. No time was wasted in that area. This Sport Coupe Touring Classe concept sports a host of power adding bits, including an NOS nitrous kit, a Kenne-Bell fuel system optimizer and a Boost-a-Pump fuel-pump booster. This car also has a cold-air intake setup and a Borla exhaust system. Chassis updates include 18x7.5-inch wheels with Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D 235/40ZR18 tires and a set of springs that lower the car 1.75 inches. Body doodads were kept to a minimum, which lets the attractive shape of the new Stratus stand out. Other than stripes, tinted windows and a custom fuel filler, the only other add-on is a super touring rear wing from Freedom Design. We'd add a Kenne Bell (maker of supercharger systems for several Ford and Dodge cars and trucks) supercharger to the package and call it day.
