The Chevy Spark that’s debuting at the 2009 Geneva Auto show is part of GM’s plan to sell a true “world car”. We’ve seen the Spark before as the two-door Beat concept, but as expected, the production version shown in Geneva uses a more practical four-door configuration. European market versions get a choice of 1 and 1.2-liter 16-valve engines, while the eventual U.S. market version will more likely get GM’s new 1.4-liter four-cylinder. The five-door hatchback is small – measuring just 143.3 inches in overall length on a 93.5-inch wheelbase. Inside, the steering-column-mounted instrument cluster is said to be "motorcycle inspired" and combines analog and digital displays. The Spark is set to go on sale in Europe in early 2010, followed by other global markets shortly thereafter.
