LAS VEGAS — Chevy describes its 2011 SEMA Show Silverado Realtree concept pickup as "the ultimate hunter's truck" — no surprise, considering it was developed with outdoor outfitter Realtree.

The specially equipped 2012 Silverado 2500 HD crew cab has a Champagne Silver Metallic exterior with Realtree camo graphics. The cabin features Dark Cocoa leather seating with camo piping and blaze orange stitching, as well as Realtree pattern accents.

The four-wheel-drive heavy-duty pickup rides on 35-inch off-road tires mounted on 18-inch wheels and is powered by a brawny Duramax diesel with 397 horsepower and 765 pound-feet of torque.

Features include a custom front bumper with an integrated winch, a custom rear cap and power-actuated running boards.

I think an OEM winch/bumper setup from the factory would be a good idea.  It wouldn't be a high volume option, but they would still sell a few of them.

A diesel hybrid isn't going to happen anytime soon.  Both drive trains are a price premium separately over the gas options.  Can you imagine what it would cost extra if you had both?

If GM would make a similar product to the Ridgeline, it would probably sell.  Base it on the Acadia, Travere platform and keep the v6 but bring the weight down a bit and i'm sure 25mpg highway would be easy.

I don't need high towing or payload capacities.  Give me seating for 5 real people and a good sized pickup box and we're in business.  A good ride and gas mileage should be a given with a unbody concept.  A 4 door El Camino if you will.

Yep. When you say "ultimate hunter's truck" I immediatly think of something bright-silver with a huge chevy Bow-tie graphic. How did they know?

The new clean diesels are awesome, no diesel smell, no popcorn noise essentially sound like a conventional gas engine.

I am still waiting for a diesel hybrid plug in version which would sell well especially with the torque and gas mileage

GM can dick around with this but they won't go after the Raptor?
