- In a first for General Motors, the Detroit automaker has hooked up with Costco to sell 2011-'12 trucks and SUVs, including the 2012 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Acadia.
- Costco members will get GM "preferred pricing" through the limited-time program — about equivalent to the discount that GM offers its suppliers' employees.
- The warehouse club said on its Web site that it is giving a $500 Costco cash card to members who complete a survey after the purchase.
DETROIT — In a first for General Motors, the Detroit automaker has hooked up with Costco to sell 2011-'12 trucks and SUVs, including the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Acadia.
Eligible vehicles also include the 2011 and 2012 Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe and Traverse, along with the GMC Sierra, Yukon and Yukon XL.
The Costco program can be combined with other GM rebates and incentives.
The program runs now until January 3.
To participate, Costco members must register with the program online.
"A promotion specialist will contact you to discuss the offer in more detail and provide you with your authorization and PIN, as well as the participating dealership's contact information," said Costco in the description of the program.
Members will receive the $500 Costco incentive in 6-8 weeks after completing a member satisfaction survey.
Inside Line says: GM starts to move the metal outside of the traditional dealership setting.

I wonder if Cotsco will include a 100 role package of TP, 50 rolls of paper towels , or 20 megasize boxes of Cheerios with each truck purchase ........

Anyone else find it ironic that the only models in this program are the insanely huge vehicles that's more car than most people could possibly use. Not including cars in this program is pretty lame.

If they come in bulk and packages, im sure the GMC Acadia will come with all the problems and recalls that plague the vehicle eversince it came out of the factory. Dont buy these vehicles including the Enclave and Traverse. They are nothing but trouble.......
How do i know? i own one! a 2008 GMC Acadia SLT with 5 recalls and 6 repairs in just 40,328 miles with 3 repairs past warranty. (blown front struts = $138, steering rack replace = $1134, squeaking driver seat = $328)
No wonder their reliability rating is worse than average!!!

Wonderful tie-in. A business known for moving vast quantities of poorly-made products, sold at bargain-basement prices, collaborates with CostCo.

you dont buy the car at costco you knobs! Did you miss the part about "participating dealers?" you buy it at a dealer through a referral program. this is actually something costco has done for decades through contracts with local dealers. this is just the first time they have done this through the manufacturer.

Wow. First GM cancels hundreds of dealer franchise agreements, now they sell their most profitable products through a warehouse club. I'll be my local Chevy dealer is glad he made all those upgrades to his showroom and service facilities. No wonder they have to jack you up for maintenance and repair.
