Chevrolet Recalls 2006-'08 HHRs

    0 Ratings
WASHINGTON, D.C. — General Motors will begin a recall of 181,516 Chevrolet HHR wagons not equipped with optional roof rail airbags in March because they don't meet the federal government's standards for protecting occupants from head injury in the event of a crash. The vehicles in the recall were sold between 2006 and 2008.

Chevrolet dealers will install an energy-absorbing plastic piece to the headliner trim, according to NHTSA's recall summary on the HHR. The recall will begin when parts become available. The automaker will send notification letters to customers, although owners may also contact Chevrolet at (800) 630-2438.

Last year, Chevrolet Cobalt sedans, which share underlying engineering with the HHR, were recalled for a similar problem.

What this means to you: If you own one of the affected vehicles, contact Chevrolet or your dealer ASAP. — Anita Lienert, Correspondent
