2005 Chevrolet Equinox
What's Special About It?
As a replacement to the aging and utterly primitive Tracker, Chevrolet will offer the Equinox. A new car-based compact SUV; the Equinox will be one of the largest vehicles in its class. Equinox offers such versatile features as sliding rear seats, a height-adjustable cargo shelf and lots of little storage compartments all over the cabin.
The Equinox will offer carlike ride and handling, but share the Chevy Truck look. For trucklike performance, the Equinox will come with GM's 3.4-liter, 185-horsepower V6. An on-demand all-wheel-drive system is available, but during normal driving conditions the Equinox is front-wheel drive.
Equinox will offer plenty of optional features including XM Satellite Radio, an MP3 player, OnStar, traction control, heated seats, side curtain airbags and a power-driver seat.
Equinox will begin production in early 2004 at a joint venture plant with Suzuki.
