    CARLISLE, Pennsylvania — Owners of the Chevrolet Corvette are well known for their dedication to the classic American muscle car, and thousands of them will gather at the fairgrounds in this Pennsylvania town this weekend to celebrate the marque.

    The theme this year is "America through Corvettes," and the event will be awash in red, white and blue Corvettes and patriotic themes. A Corvette American Flag Tribute, in which the cars line up in the shape of the flag, will be produced for the third consecutive year, this time with a new high of 153 Corvettes in formation. There will also be a parade through downtown and a giveaway of a 2003 50th Anniversary Z06 Corvette on Sunday.

    Patriotic-themed Vettes will be displayed together in an invitation-only setup, including a 1965 roadster decorated in American flag livery for the 1999 film Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, alongside Corvettes with 100 Years of Scouting, Indy 500 Festival and Vietnam War Memorial themes.

    The parade, held on Saturday, will honor John Fitch, who co-drove the Briggs Cunningham #3 Corvette to a class win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1960, a first for Corvette. That car will be at Carlisle that weekend and will be displayed alongside the 2011 50th Anniversary Tribute Corvette that pays homage to the legendary racing car.

    Full details about the weekend are at the Carlisle Events Web site.

    @danielp2:

    If that were the case, we'd at least see a black dash, steering wheel, etc.

    maybe those cars are white convertibles with the tops down and white interiors.

    @calspecial68:

    That's what I thought at first -- but I assume we could see the rear window if that were the case.  They just seem blanked out.

    Talk about American pride. Wish I could go and oggle these cars in person. Maybe in the future.

    @ cardesigner82 & stress83: Perhaps some white top on white ext. convertibles?? I could be wrong, but it's a worthy guess.

    And sixth row down, next to the blue...

    Also notice the sixth from the bottom, second from left -- someone is crouching by their open door.

    Also, the second to right, top row of the white...?

    What's up with that Vette that is 4th from the right in the second to bottom row of the white?

    Too many white ones! Even if it does make for a pretty cool image.
