DETROIT — A $78,560 2012 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport convertible with a 430-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 is one of the top prizes in Chevrolet's 2012 Super Bowl sweepstakes, as the Detroit automaker tries to one-up the competition in the toughest auto advertising race of the year.
The Chevy sweepstakes is noteworthy because it is one of the few examples of an automaker giving away cars to grab attention during the mammoth sporting event.
Volkswagen has turned to barking dogs in a YouTube video in the run-up to the game, while others, such as Suzuki, appear to be aiming for a more traditional approach. Suzuki said it will feature the Kizashi in its 2012 Super Bowl commercial.
Chevy said it will give away 20 Chevrolets during the contest, including a $40,235 2012 Chevrolet Volt. Other cars in the sweepstakes include two Camaros — valued at $35,690 and $40,840 — a $23,350 Cruze LTZ, a $41,680 Silverado 1500 LTZ pickup and an $18,735 Sonic. All come with a one-year subscription to XM Satellite Radio.
Other prizes include 20 sets of Bridgestone tires valued at $599 each, 2,500 Papa John's large pizzas valued at $11 each and 46 Motorola Droid Razrs valued at $699 each.
Contestants download the Chevrolet app to play and answer trivia questions. An alternate method of entry can be found on Chevy's Web site.
Inside Line says: Chevy wisely adopts an interactive approach to its 2012 Super Bowl advertising.

This web site has so many trolls. Anyone who likes cars would love to own a Grand Sport Corvette. Unfortunately, I would not be able to keep one because where I love requires front or all wheel drive about 5 months of the year making a rear wheel drive car too much of a hassle to keep. Nissan, could you make a similar offer with the GTR, Subaru WRX STI, Mitsubishi Evolution or Porsche anything all wheel drive will work?

Another winning move for Chevy. Who wouldn't want to win a 2012 Grand Sport?

@wikiwiki - After you pay taxes on the vehicle, not very cool at all to pony up even more $$$ for another vehicle. Most probably sell awarded vehicles to pay the tax and keep what's left over.

How cool would it be to win one of these and trade it in for cash and buy something better?
