Monterey Sports Car Auction To Feature a New 2009 Corvette ZR1
The GRACE charity provides "vital necessities" such as food, clothing and other assistance to people in emergency situations. It's headquartered in Grapevine, Texas. The ZR1 is provided by RM Auctions in association with the Thompson Group at Classic Chevrolet. It will be painted Victory Red.
Last year's Monterey auction, held to coincide with the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, saw 190 cars cross the auction block to total $46 million in sales, including nine that sold for more than $1 million each. This year, a rare Chrysler Diablo concept from 1957 and a one-off 1954 Cramer Comet powered by an Allison fighter engine from World War II will share pride of place with the luscious 1953 Ferrari 212 Vignale Coupe, 1972 Lamborghini Miura P4000SV and other exotics up for sale.
Full details on the Sports & Classics of Monterey auction are available at the RM Auctions Web site.
What this means to you: An excellent opportunity for someone who wants to do good while getting their hands on one of the first ZR1s. — Laura Sky Brown, Correspondent
