PARSIPPANY, New Jersey — Saying it wants to add "muscle" to its rental fleet, Avis on Tuesday said it is adding the 2008 Chevrolet Corvette convertible to its lineup. The Corvette will cost renters approximately $169.99 per day and is available only in Arizona, California, Florida and Las Vegas.
A quick check by Inside Line of such locations as the Los Angeles International Airport found that Avis Corvette is already sold out for dates in the early spring. Be aware that the Corvette is also one of the more expensive vehicles in the Avis fleet.
The 2008 Chevrolet Corvette convertible is equipped with a 430-horsepower 6.2-liter V8. Standard features include cruise control, power accessories, an auxiliary audio input jack and active handling system.
The Corvette joins other upscale vehicles in the Avis lineup including the Cadillac CTS, Hummer H3 and Lincoln MKX.
