WASHINGTON — General Motors is recalling 5,220 2012 Chevrolet Colorados and GMC Canyons to replace seat belt buckle electric connectors that may prevent visual or audible warnings that the driver's seat belt is not fastened, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
"These vehicles may have been produced with driver safety belt buckle electrical connector terminals that do not fit snugly with the connector pins, causing the connection to be intermittent," said NHTSA in its recalls summary of the problem. "The loose connections may cause the driver to not receive a visual or audible warning that the driver's seat belt is not fastened, thereby increasing the risk of personal injury in the event of a crash."
GM says there are no known crashes or injuries associated with the recall. The problem was discovered during an assembly plant audit at the GM truck plant in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Dealers will replace the seat belt buckle electrical connector terminals. The recall is expected to begin on November 30. Owners can contact Chevrolet at 1-800-630-2438 and GMC at 1-866-996-9463.

Where's the national coverage of GM's recall? Where is the 24 hour blistering of how terrible they are? Oh I forgot, our government owns half of GM, that wouldn't be prudent, would it?

I had a 06 GMC Canyon, worst financial and vehicle decision I ever made. Numerous things went wrong with the truck in less then a year although under warranty. I had 01 GMC Sonoma before that in which I should have kept.
