SAO PAULO, Brazil — Developed in Brazil, the latest edition of the compact Chevrolet Cobalt will be sold in more than 40 countries in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and South America — but not in the U.S.
The new Chevrolet Cobalt sedan is going on sale initially in Brazil, priced from $10,640.
General Motors engineers stretched the Cobalt's wheelbase so the car accommodates five adults in relative comfort. They also sprinkled 18 different storage compartments, both large and small, throughout the car. A mix of analog and digital displays features ice-blue LED lighting, while the center console includes a USB port to connect mobile devices.
Depending on the market, the new Cobalt will be offered with a choice of four-cylinder engines, ranging in displacement from 1.3 to 1.8 liters, powered by gasoline, ethanol or diesel. The Brazilian market gets 1.4- and 1.8-liter engines, both of which can run on gas or ethanol.
Trim levels in Brazil include Cobalt LS, LT and LTZ. The base model is reasonably equipped, with air-conditioning, power steering, power door locks and 15-inch wheels and tires.
Inside Line says: Not a terribly handsome design.

@drkrycek
Asshole, have more respect for other people.
Even we aren't happy with this crappy ugly car that GM is putting on the market. Lately, GM is only putting this kind of crap here. Only the Cruze, the Captiva and the outgoing Malibu were at least decent.
The car will probably have ABS and AirBags standards.

The base "LT" version costs R$39,900 or US$22,800 (R$1,75 today's exchange rate). For that you get the 1.4 97hp early 2000s engine, NO power windows, NO ABS and NO air-bags. On the plus side the blind people will buy it exclusevely to store bananas since they are not able to drive the lack of basic safety features won't be a hazard. Yes, only a blind person could live with that design.

The headlights look like the far set apart eyes of a boston terrier...glad we're not seeing that here...maybe you need 3D glasses to bring it back into correct proportions?

Did GM Brazil even TRY to design this vehicle? It looks like three teams were responsible for the exterior. One for the front fascia, one for the profile, and one for the rear. And they didn't talk to each other at all.
