    Just the Facts:
    • Chevrolet wants young consumers to vote online on the two sporty concepts it's displaying at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show.
    • The concepts are the Code 130R and the Tru 140S.
    • Chevy has posted links on its Facebook and Twitter sites, directing viewers to an online "youth concepts survey" that enables participants to select favorite from the two.

DETROIT — Following up on General Motors North America President Mark Reuss' observation that the automaker is "seeking out our newest customers' opinions, listening to their advice and engaging them in new ways," Chevrolet is asking young consumers via social media to vote online on the Code 130R and the Tru 140S, the two sporty concepts it's displaying at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show.

The GM brand has posted links on its Facebook and Twitter sites, directing viewers to an online "youth concepts survey " that enables participants to select favorite from the two.

Chevy says the rear-wheel-drive Code 130R and the front-wheel-drive Tru 140S are aimed at younger buyers who value connectivity and personalization. Both cars are being considered for production, with projected price tags in the low 20s.

The Code 130R is a four-passenger hybrid coupe, featuring a turbocharged Ecotec 1.4-liter four-cylinder direct-injection gasoline engine coupled with General Motors' eAssist hybrid technology. The engine makes 150 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque. Chevy says the driveline can be equipped with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission, and is projected to return 40 mog in highway driving.

The Tru 140S is a four-passenger hatchback that shares its platform with the Chevy Cruze and Volt. It also gets the 150-hp Ecotec 1.4, fitted with stop-start technology and other fuel-saving systems, and is projected to deliver 40 mpg on the highway.

Both cars were developed at GM's Advanced Design studio in Los Angeles.

I like them both ....the 130 looks like a BMW 1 series and the 140 looks like a new Lotus

The white tru 140S appeals to me; the red code 130R, not so much.

Please post your tax return on this web site so we all can see just how much you pay in taxes.  I have a feeling that you pay little or no taxes, and in fact likely qualify for the earned income tax credit.

And if you want to vote for Ron Paul, why don't you just vote Liberterian, because that is truly what Ron Paul is.

From these perspectives at least, I agree that the red one looks like a 1-series rear with a Chevy front, and the white one looks like an Eclipse with a Chevy front. White one looks more interesting than a Civic, not sure about the red one.

The Code 130R looks like good competition  for the new toyobaru twins.  Small rwd 4 seater.

I'd vote for the Tru140 (the white one).  the styling is sharper and more unique.  Plus- the weight of the hybrid in the red car will take some of the accelleration advantage, increase the cost and reduce nimbleness.  Keep it simple for a little sports car.

You know how people say beating a joke to death?

YOU, my trollish idiot, are doing exactly that. Even your own damn name proves it.

It happened THREE. YEARS. AGO. I am SICK and TIRED of that stupid "Government Motors" joke. IT'S. NOT. FUNNY.

And for the record, neither are you.

GM should build both. Build the 140s as a 4 door Buick sport hatchback. Build the 130R as a compact Chevy coupe but give it a fastback hatch to get rid of the BMW 1 series look... and hopefully give it a bit of practicality cargo wise. As I recall late 80s/early90s Toyota Celicas and early 90s Nissan 240s looked far better as hatchbacks than notchbacks. Where does the myth that hatchbacks have to be less desirable than nothbacks come from?

I am not in Chevy's dmographic group, so I would like to comment here.  I like the red one, but only if it has more power.  This car, out of all GM models, dearly begs for the 2.0 turbo with 270 hp.  I know, I know, it will cost more than a base model Camaro.  Well, maybe that six cylinder Camaro should just go away.
