    Just the Facts:
    • TLC's Cake Boss aired the episode that shows the crew from Carlo's Bake Shop making a 1,500-pound cake to resemble a Chevrolet Camaro and the Transformers Bumblebee character, a request by Chevrolet for GM's press days at the 2011 New York Auto Show.
    • The cake featured moving wings, lights and pyrotechnics, along with yellow sponge cake "glued" with buttercream frosting for the Camaro base and Rice Krispies Treats for the Transformer figure.
    • The cake was inspired by the third Transformers movie, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, which opens in theaters July 1.

HOBOKEN, New Jersey — As hype for Transformers: Dark of the Moon hits top speed, the Chevrolet Camaro folks are getting a lot of mileage out of the 1,500-pound Bumblebee Transformer cake they commissioned Cake Boss star Buddy Valastro to make for the 2011 New York Auto Show in April.

The TLC cable reality show aired the episode this week that chronicles Valastro and his crew from Carlo's Bake Shop of Hoboken, New Jersey, making and delivering the bright yellow Camaro topped with the action flick's Bumblebee Transformer emerging from its roof.

Besides moving wings, lights and pyrotechnics, the cake featured yellow sponge cake "glued" with buttercream frosting for the Camaro base, and Rice Krispies Treats covered in black and yellow fondant for the Transformer figure.

It took four days to make, including an all-nighter, and it had to be decorated in a warehouse rather than the 10,000-square-foot bakery because of its size.

Valastro test drove a Camaro for inspiration.

"This is the hardest cake I've ever done, but it's probably the one I'm most proud of," Valastro told the press during GM's auto show media day.

The third Transformers movie opens in theaters July 1.

Kinda lacking detail on the front grille :/ I also watch Cake Boss and I've seen better from the bake shop.

Many believe Ed Wood was the Worst Director of All Time. I disagree...Michael Bay takes that honor. Transformers: Dark of the Moon is just another in a (long line) of his dumb, un-original, cookie cutter formula story, bad humor, racist portrayal of characters, sexually exploitive of young women to the point of homophobia, in your face soundtrack, TNT fest, Summer Blockbusters. Is he entirely to blame? No. As long as people line up like sheep to go see his movies, Hollywood will keep hiring this idiot. This is a call to people to PLEASE not go see this movie. Tell your friends also so maybe a director with some true talent can surface to the top. I can only hope that will send a message to Hollywood.

Yeah the Camaro looks horrible, he's usually pretty good with details (YEAH I WATCH CAKE BOSS, DONT JUDGE ME.)  The transformer looks good though.

No, I couldn't do better. Then again, I don't make cakes for a living either. But if I did, I would be sure to not undertake tasks which would not turn out well or showcase my talent. Which is exactly what this person did. And for it to be the one 'she's most proud of', is amusing imo.

The most striking feature of the Chevy Camaro is the aggressive front end (in my opinion).  If you can't even get that then don't bother with the rest.  F A I L ! !

Can you do better? With cake mix and Rice Crispies?!

That's actually a quite horrble rendition. Proportions, lines..... all wrong. Not sure why one would even try this.
