- Neiman Marcus Chevy Camaro convertible sold out in three minutes.
- The special edition drop-top was priced at $75,000.
- Only 100 units of the V8-powered Camaro were available.
DETROIT — It didn't take Camaro enthusiasts long to snap up all 100 copies of this year's Neiman Marcus Christmas Book special edition. Three minutes after the 2011 Chevrolet Camaro SS Convertible officially went on sale Wednesday morning, it was sold out.
Painted Deep Bordeaux, the Neiman Marcus Edition Camaro Convertible was unveiled on NBC's Today Show. Shortly after that, customers were able to place their orders by telephone. The cars, which are priced from $75,000 each, will be delivered next spring.
The special edition will have several exclusive touches, including a color-coordinated fabric top and a matte-silver windshield frame, as well as "ghosted" rally stripes.
All Neiman Marcus cars will feature a 6.2-liter V8 with choice of six-speed manual or automatic gearbox.
Inside Line says: The question remains: Was last year's Neiman Marcus Christmas car, a Jaguar XJL Supercharged, a better deal at $105,000? — Paul Lienert, Correspondent
