DETROIT — That's not just any old green Camaro. The latest special edition is painted Synergy Green — thus the naming scheme behind the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro Synergy, which is priced at $26,790 and will be offered in "limited quantities" through May.

The Synergy edition is based on a Camaro 1LT, powered by a 304-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 and mated to either a six-speed manual or automatic gearbox. The car also gets 245/50R19 tires on silver-painted wheels, plus a rear spoiler.

The Synergy Green paint scheme was previewed last fall, at the 2009 SEMA Auto Show. In production trim, the car adds Cyber Grey rally stripes on the hood and rear deck.

The cockpit is trimmed in Synergy Green stitching on the cloth seats, steering wheel, shift knob and center console. Features include remote start (on automatic-transmission models), Bluetooth hands-free connectivity and an iPod port.

Bad move General. Diluting down the Camaro to appear eco-friendly is not going to get enough sales to justify this idea. This car was meant for performance, let it be that way. Thats why it sells. You wouldnt do this your precious Corvette too, would you??

Scion, Kia, and now GM (and others that don't immediately pop into mind right now) apparently have come to the conclusion that these offerings make money, so I guess I can see why they would do it from a business standpoint. Minimum investment for premium price. I personally think limited editions are pointless unless it offers something more than a few dressup bits, but to each their own. For this price, I would rather move up to the 2LT package and get the leather seats instead.

and you thought GM's new management would be any different...

Very mixed message; is the paint even eco friendly? A rip off of Toyota Synergy drive with the green color making it obvious; even though they were talking about how the two colors of green complement each other, I wouldn't say Synergy s the right word.
