SANTA FE SPRINGS, California —Lingenfelter Performance Engineering will arrive at the 2009 SEMA Auto Show next week with a little something special: a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS boosted to 750 horsepower and designed to hit 200 mph. Look for the Lingenfelter Camaro at the Hotchkis Performance booth.
Why Hotchkis? The company is providing a full suspension upgrade, including sport springs, adjustable sport sway bars and a subframe brace. The car also sports Brembo brakes and Sachs adjustable shocks, as well as 20-inch LPE 10-spoke alloy wheels shod with Pirelli performance tires (275/40ZR20 front, 305/35ZR20 rear).
But the real story lies under the hood, where Lingenfelter has rebuilt the 7.0-liter Chevy LS7 V8 with forged JE pistons, a Magnusson/Eaton TVS2300 supercharger and a stainless steel exhaust system.
A Lingenfelter body kit bundles a front fascia splitter, carbon fiber grille, a hood with air extractors, rocker extensions, a deck spoiler and a rear fascia extension with LPE exhaust tips. The interior features a Lingenfelter/Grant customer steering wheel and Lingenfelter pedal covers, as well as a Mito rear-view mirror with video display.
Inside Line says: Look for various Lingenfelter-branded Camaro performance bits to show up soon at your local Chevy dealer. — Paul Lienert, Correspondent
