General Motors Issues Service Bulletin for 2010 Chevrolet Camaro
Published Sep 28, 2009
DETROIT — Camaro5 reports that General Motors has issued a service bulletin for the HVAC system, rear spoiler fasteners and engine harness on the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro.
On all vehicles the HVAC module must be reprogrammed to help prevent the evaporator from freezing up after extended highway drives.
On vehicles that have a VIN lower than A9126194, the rear spoiler needs to be repaired. Owners should bring Camaros in this category to their local dealer, where the six nuts securing the rear spoiler to the compartment lid will be replaced to ensure a tight fit. Loctite 242 Threadlocker will also be applied to the spoiler studs.
All cars equipped with the 6.2-liter LS3 V8 require an engine harness inspection to ensure that the heater hose clamps are not coming in contact with the harness bracket.
GM insists that these bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not what the company calls a "do-it-yourselfer."
Inside Line says: Although these aren't recalls or critical repairs, owners should still have their Camaro inspected the next time the vehicle is in for routine maintenance. — Mike Lysaght, Correspondent
