This SUV follows in the footsteps of the S-10 Xtreme compact pickup. The Xtreme Blazer features a special suspension and styling cues to appeal to today's youths. It should be offered as a production vehicle in 2001. The two-wheel-drive Blazer Xtreme rides on a sport suspension, with a 2-inch lowered ride height. There's a 33mm front anti-roll bar, a 23mm rear anti-roll bar, and two-stage multileaf rear springs to improve handling. The Xtreme displayed at the SEMA show had a custom front grille and fascia, wider fender flares and rocker cladding, and body-colored mirrors and door handles. The powertrain was a 190-horsepower 4.3-liter Vortec V6. Chevy says a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic will be available on the production model.
