GUANGZHOU, China — Changfeng Motor, an SUV specialist recently taken over by Guangzhou Auto, brought a production-ready version of its Mitsubishi-based Acumen sedan to the 2009 Guangzhou Auto Show this week. The car, which is derived from the Lancer, is slated to go on sale in China in January, priced from around $15,000.
Changfeng plans initially to launch the car with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. It will be followed by less expensive 1.6- and 1.8-liter variants.
The Acumen was unveiled earlier this year in concept form at the 2009 Shanghai Auto Show, alongside a sexier Acumen coupe that appears to draw even more heavily on Mitsubishi styling cues, particularly from the Lancer Evo.
The Acumen coupe is expected to go into production in 2011.
Inside Line says: Changfeng's plans could take a radical turn under its new owner, which already has plenty of sedans in the pipeline, not to mention powerful partners in Honda and Toyota. — Paul Lienert, Correspondent

It looks like a mix of 2006 Hyundai Sonata and 2006 Volvo S40 with a cheap, bad quality interior.

hello current Hyundai Sonata.
im really getting tired of the Chinese blatantly copying other automaker's products...it was true with a past carbon copy of the last generation BMW X5 and a more recent model (i forget the name) that had a 03-07 Honda Accord Interior with an 07-10 Toyota Camry steering wheel. Both the interior and Steering wheel were both exact replicas of the products sold by Toyota and Honda.
this is besides the fact that Chinese vehicles are probably unsafe and poorly finished; they'll probably end up like Yugo.
I will never buy a Chinese vehicle, even if they paid me too.
