You'll easily spot the classic open-wheel lines of the Seven under the gloss-black livery and CDX decals. The first 20 cars also will feature a specially tuned version of the 135-horsepower 1.6-liter K-series engine, along with $3,900 worth of additional performance hardware at no extra cost.
Since Caterham has designed the CDX cars to emulate the actual vehicles used in its slalom, drift and circuit courses, each of the limited-edition models also will feature a rollover bar as well as a limited-slip differential, push-button start, Momo leather steering wheel and 13-inch Superlight alloy wheels shod with Avon performance tires.
The CDX Limited Edition is available in Europe in kit form for $34,175 or factory assembled for $40,050.
What this means to you: We'd still rather have an Ariel Atom in our personal garage. — Paul Lienert, Correspondent
