Fall has arrived here in Los Angeles and that means two things: weather that seems like summer anywhere else and the Los Angeles Auto Show. And here is a sneak preview of what Inside Line expects to see at this year’s show.
After being named last year's World Car of the Year, the Mazda 2 will make its North American debut here at the 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show. Based on the same platform as the Ford Fiesta, the 2 will become Mazda's new entry level car and is yet another subcompact to enter the American market.
The Buick Regal is a familiar name, but this all-new sedan definitely isn't. Based on the Opel Insignia, the midsize Regal will be Buick's new entry model and as of right now will only feature four-cylinder engines. You'll even be able to get a manual.
The Chevy Cruze has been out in other markets for about a year now, but this long-awaited replacement for the Cobalt will make its North American debut here in LA.
The Boxster Spyder is a light-weight version of Porsche's roadster with a 10-hp bump over the Boxster S and with a low-profile soft top. Unlike past Boxster Spyders this one will be a full production model.
Other world debuts we expect to see at the 2009 LA Auto Show are the all-new Toyota Sienna and Hyundai Tucson.
We'll also looking forward to another look at the Mercedes SLS AMG, the Rolls-Royce Ghost, Audi R8 Spyder, Lexus LFA and something called the Chevy Volt.
Check back on Inside Line on December 2 for full coverage of the 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show.

The Mazda 2 looked like the most interesting thing there.
