Tuner Special: TechArt Boxster and Cayman

LEONBURG, Germany — The Porsche tuner TechArt has released an exterior and interior package for the recently face-lifted 2009 Porsche Cayman and Boxster.

TechArt installs sport springs that can slam the vehicles up to 1.2 inches. The new stance is accentuated by a body kit that includes a front spoiler, side skirts, rear bumper with diffuser and rear spoiler. The aerodynamics package was tested in a wind tunnel to optimize airflow and add more downforce to keep the axles on the ground at high speeds.

The German tuning house created a daytime running light system for the vehicles, which is integrated into the upper part of the front fascia and automatically dims when either of the turn signals is initiated. A new two-pipe exhaust system in glossy or black chrome can also be added out back, and the tuner finishes off the new look with a 19- or 20-inch set of alloy rims.

Various upholstery options are available for the interior, and some of the TechArt accessories include aluminum sport pedals, a three-spoke steering wheel and illuminated entry sills.

Inside Line says: TechArt puts the looks of the Cayman and Boxster on a different level with its latest tuning program. — Mike Lysaght, Correspondent
