KREFELD, Germany — German tuner Arden has revamped its AR7, giving the Range Rover more style and a little extra kick in the pants.

The Range Rover's V8 is enlarged to 4.5 liters from 4.2 liters, and the addition of a high-performance twin-screw supercharger has helped up the output to 520 horsepower and 502 pound-feet of torque. The extra horsepower helps the heavy SUV gallop to 60 mph in less than 6.5 seconds and allows for a top speed of 149 mph.

The Arden body kit includes a wide front apron with daytime LED headlamps and foglamps, a rear apron equipped with rectangular tailpipes, and new side skirts and wheel-arch extensions. Huge Sportline 22- or 23-inch forged wheels housing upgraded brake calipers complete the luxurious yet sporty look of the AR7.

Inside, leather and Alcantara are available in a multitude of choices for a custom interior, and a wide variety of high-grade woods, chrome, carbon fiber and aluminum are offered for the door and dash trims.

The parts are listed separately on the Arden Web site with prices and availability.

What this means to you: Arden's upgraded AR7 blows the old one out of the water with its extra power and revamped style. — Mike Lysaght, Correspondent
