While Warner Brothers is still being coy as to exactly what makes up the substance of the movie's Mach 5 (maybe there's a Corvette chassis under there?), it didn't have to be very fast. Virtually all the action sequences in the film were generated inside computers, with the actors digitally inserted using "green screen" techniques. So don't think "car" when you're looking at this sleek beauty at the show — think "movie prop."
The movie itself is written, produced and directed by brothers Larry and Andy Wachowski who are best known for creating the three Matrix films. Emile Hirsch will play Speed, Christina Ricci is Trixie, John Goodman is Pops Racer and Oscar-winner Susan Sarandon has finally found a role worthy of her talent in Mom Racer.
Here's the trailer and some photos.
