Sony Announces Details of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Release in North America
FOSTER CITY, California — Sony Computer Entertainment America has announced that Gran Turismo 5 Prologue releases on Blu-ray disc to retailers on Tuesday and will be available via download for Playstation at 12:01 a.m. EDT on Thursday, April 17. Both versions are priced at $39.99.
The North American version of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue has an exclusive soundtrack by such artists as Weezer, The Mars Volta, DJ Shadow and Justice. It also features an online user home page called My Page that "showcases a world map with real-time weather for major circuits, access to motorsports news and a museum with manufacturer history," Sony said in a statement on Tuesday. Other goodies include "in-depth car tuning options for automotive enthusiasts, time trials in Arcade Mode, online and offline race events and two-player split screen offline racing."
In Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, players can drive a choice of 70 vehicles, including Ferraris, Nissans and Fords, around six courses with two race routes.
