    Just the Facts:
    • Epic Electric Vehicles unveils its new three-wheel EV.
    • The Epic EV Torq measures 162 inches long.
    • A 24-to-30-kWh lithium/iron phosphate battery pack powers the 200-plus horsepower electric motor.

SAN DIEGO — Epic Electric vehicles has taken the wraps off its three-wheeled Torq all-electric roadster.

With a similar look to the KTM X-Bow, the roofless vehicle measures 48 inches high, 87 inches wide and 162 inches long. The wheelbase is 111 inches, which is approximately 18 inches wider than the X-Bow.

A 24-to-30-kilowatt-hour lithium/iron phosphate battery pack will power a 200-plus-horsepower electric motor. Acceleration figures should be impressive considering the vehicle's minimal curb weight of 1,700 pounds. The interior is sparsely populated with creature comforts, and includes only a digital display on the dash, two cupholders and a dock to mount your smartphone.

Further details will be released as the vehicle gets closer to launch.

Inside Line says: Its quirky design would definitely take some getting used to — on the road and track. — Mike Lysaght, Correspondent

Wow! What a UGLY car. Doesn't matter how much electric power it has when it looks like this! Not to mention 3 wheel designs are generally pretty bad in the handling department. Gonna be a EPIC FAIL!

This is what happens when you let engineers design cars instead of designers.  It may function as intended, but does little to inspire intrigue.

I find it hilariously ironic that it has a dock for a smartphone.

It's attractive if you just so happen to be turned on by large-scale origami

I wonder if there is even room to carry an umbrella.

A "car" like this, without a top, doesn't need a long driving range.  Who would want to stray too far from home with no weather protection?

And it certainly does look cobbled together by 13 year olds.
