Refreshed 2009 Cadillac XLR Caught in Michigan

    0 Ratings
DETROIT, Michigan — After four years on the market, the Cadillac XLR appears headed for its first refresh. Spy photos taken of an early prototype in Michigan show only minor exterior changes, while the interior is expected to get more substantial changes.

With such modest changes on the outside, it's clear that the 2009 Cadillac XLR is getting the same kind of exterior freshening as the 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL. Expect to see a new grille, headlights and possibly some chrome quarter-panel vents on the updated XLR, along with revised taillights.

Most of the important changes will be on the inside, as this XLR is expected to get the same kind of interior upgrades as the CTS sedan. And given that this has been one of the XLR's weak points since day one, the changes should help keep it relevant until the full redesign comes along in the next few years.

What this means to you: The XLR may finally get an interior worthy of its $75,000 price tag. — Ed Hellwig, Lead Senior Editor
