2007 Cadillac Escalade will share its new platform

    0 Ratings
DETROIT, Mich. — A Cadillac spokesperson has contradicted rumors and reports that a redesigned Escalade SUV will be the first car to ride on General Motors' GMT900 platform. Instead, the Escalade will be one of three SUVs that will introduce the new platform to the public. The others will be overhauled versions of Chevrolet's Tahoe and GMC's Yukon.

GM's midterm financial well-being depends on GMT900, as it is the architecture for its highest-volume and most profitable vehicles: full-size pickups and SUVs. New pickups will follow the first three GMT900 SUVs to market. The Escalade, Tahoe and Yukon will go on sale at approximately the same time. The Cadillac spokesperson declined to say when, or to confirm reports that the first GMT900 vehicles will break cover at January's North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

What this means to you: Get ready for major redesigns of three of GM's highest-volume SUVs to hit the streets.
