    What is it?
    Cadillac Escalade Twin Turbo

    What's special about it?
The name makes it pretty clear — this is one powerful Caddy. As if the standard Escalade weren't enough, this concept vehicle adds twin turbochargers to the already potent 6.0-liter Vortec V8 to produce a thundering 580 horsepower and 580 pound-feet of torque. Aluminum cylinder heads, a carbon fiber air intake and a camshaft borrowed from the Corvette parts bin help the blown motor produce its sky-high power output.

Dropped an inch up front and an inch and a half in back, this 'Slade has the right stance to back up its street-killer disposition. Chrome-plated 20-inch aluminum wheels and a custom front grille are the final touches on this decidedly "west coast" version of Cadillac's sport-ute.

You can't have 20s on the outside without the proper setup on the inside. A TV and video game console reside overhead while a DVD player is tucked away below. A state-of-the-art voice command cell phone system allows drivers to control all of their phone's functions without ever having to pick it up.

    Why should you care?
Unless you just signed a major NBA contract or have your own record label, you probably shouldn't. If anything, this high-power Escalade proves that GM is finally realizing that styling trends don't start in Southern Michigan. Whether this will translate into more progressive designs remains to be seen. —Ed Hellwig
