    What Is It?
Cadillac Escalade ESV Executive Edition Concept

    What's Special About It?
After seeing countless Escalades go under the knife at aftermarket shops all over the country, Cadillac finally rolled out its own stylized version to show that it knows a thing or two about customization. From the outside the alterations are subtle. It wears a restyled grille inspired by the design of the Cadillac Sixteen concept car in addition to 22-inch wheels and retractable running boards. Quadrasteer four-wheel steering makes it more maneuverable than its size would suggest and an 8.1-liter V8 provides more than enough power.

Look inside and you'll see where the real changes were made as the interior is an executive suite unlike any other. The rear-facing second-row seats flank a 22-inch flat screen monitor that's just one aspect of an extensive multimedia package. A Bose 5.1 surround sound system uses 13 speakers to produce near-theater quality sound while a laptop computer and auxiliary LCD screens are mounted off to the sides so as not to mix business with pleasure. The third-row captain's chairs feature heated and cooled cupholders, 14-way adjustability and extendable foot rests.

    Why Should You Care?
If you've just gone triple platinum and you need something to get comfortable in, this is your ride. For the other 99.99 percent of us, this is nothing more than yet another tricked-out Escalade that's even gaudier than the stock vehicle. With three versions of the Escalade already on the market, it's doubtful that Cadillac will bother making yet another, but don't be surprised if a few of the trick features found in the one-off concept make their way onto the Escalade options list in the near future. — Ed Hellwig
