- 2011 Cadillac CTS and 2011 Infiniti M named Top Safety Picks by the IIHS.
- CTS and the M37/M56 received the group's top rating of Good in the roof tests.
- The two cars achieved Good ratings in all four categories of evaluation.
ARLINGTON, Virginia — The 2011 Cadillac CTS and 2011 Infiniti M have been named Top Safety Picks by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
The IIHS, a lobbying arm of the insurance industry, recently completed roof-strength tests on a number of premium vehicles as part of a broader four-part evaluation of vehicle safety.
It said the CTS and the M37/M56 received the group's top rating of Good in the roof tests, which aim to assess how well vehicles will protect occupants in rollover crashes.
The two vehicles achieved the same top scores in all four of the group's evaluations, joining the BMW 5 Series, Hyundai Genesis, Lincoln MKS, Mercedes E-class and Volvo S80 as IIHS Top Safety Picks in the large luxury class.
IIHS said it also tested the 2010 Lexus GS and the 2010 Audi A6, which received Acceptable marks in rollover protection, as well as the 2010 Acura RL, which was rated Marginal in the same test.

Looks like GM did something right. Naturally, the GM bashers will stay away from this topic :)

Is it just me.. or do both of these cars look like polar opposites? One is boxy and the other fluid. Congrats to both eitherway
