Other highlights include new front fender vents on the XLR and a body-color roof-mounted XM Satellite Radio/OnStar antenna on the DTS.
Hey, Cadillac really is on a roll.
2009 Cadillac CTS: No changes.
2009 Cadillac CTS-V: This is the quickest, fastest and most powerful Cadillac ever produced. The all-new 2009 Cadillac CTS-V is powered by a 556-horsepower supercharged V8 displacing 6.2 liters. It hits 60 mph in just 4.0 seconds and runs the quarter-mile in 12.4 seconds. In other words, it's quicker than the BMW M5 and Mercedes E63.
Two transmissions are offered, a manual and an automatic. Both get six-speeds. And every 2009 CTS-V is rear-wheel drive.
Other highlights of this ultrahigh-performance sedan are its Brembo brakes, 19-inch wheels, sticky Michelin PS2 tires and Magnetic Ride Control, which has two selectable modes (Tour and Sport), enabling the driver to tailor the suspension for driving to work or attacking his favorite road.
Inside, Cadillac has added performance driving seats with pneumatic bolster controls, suede on the steering wheel, seat inserts and shifter, and piano black trim.
2009 Cadillac DTS: Tweaks for the 2009 Cadillac DTS are small. Cadillac's largest sedan gets three new exterior colors (Radiant Silver, Gray Flannel and Ocean Pearl Tricoat); a body-color roof-mounted XM Satellite Radio/OnStar antenna; new 17-inch ChromeTech aluminum wheels; brake rotors with rust-inhibiting ferritic-nitro carburizing process; speed limit advisor with speed alert in the driver information center; XM NavTraffic; and OnStar 8.0 with Bluetooth capability.
Cadillac also sprung for new switches for the heating/cooling seat controls that are easier for daytime visibility, display enhancements for the base XM Satellite Radio that provide artist and song title descriptions, and a simplified sunroof control with a new "express close" feature. The valet key and steering column lock also return as standard equipment.
2009 Cadillac Escalade: Changes to the 2009 Cadillac Escalade are limited to E85 capability for its 6.2-liter V8 engine, a new side blind zone alert system, XM Satellite Radio with NavTraffic real-time traffic advisement, a power-tilting steering wheel and a new interior color combination: Light Cashmere/Cocoa.
There's also the addition of the Escalade Platinum to the lineup. Think of it as the top-dog Escalade. It features a unique front fascia and grille patterned after Cadillac's CTS sport sedan, unique 22-inch wheels, Platinum exterior badges, Magnetic Ride Control and LED headlamps.
Inside, the Escalade Platinum gets a hand-stitched leather-wrapped instrument panel, center storage console and door trim complete with French seams and contrasting-color stitching. Aniline leather is unique to the Escalade Platinum and is used to trim the first- and second-row seats.
Additional standard interior features include Platinum-specific door sills and floor mats, a heated steering wheel, heated and cooled cupholders and a power liftgate. Also, the DVD entertainment system adds screens integrated into each front-seat headrest, in addition to the existing roof-mounted screen.
Each front-row headrest screen has its own driver and input controls. The headrest units can be operated independently or in tandem. This system enables passengers in different seats to watch or listen to different entertainment choices. Escalade Platinum models will include a Bose 5.1 Digital Surround system, as well as the 8-inch touchscreen for DVD-based navigation and control of the DVD, CD, MP3 and XM Satellite Radio entertainment.
2009 Cadillac Escalade ESV: Changes to the 2009 Cadillac Escalade ESV, Cadillac's largest SUV, are limited to E85 capability for its 6.2-liter V8 engine, a new side blind zone alert system, XM Satellite Radio with NavTraffic real-time traffic advisement, a power-tilting steering wheel and a new interior color combination: Light Cashmere/Cocoa.

2009 Cadillac Escalade EXT: Changes to the 2009 Cadillac Escalade EXT, Cadillac's only pickup truck, are limited to E85 capability for its 6.2-liter V8 engine, a new side blind zone alert system, XM Satellite Radio with NavTraffic real-time traffic advisement, a power-tilting steering wheel and a new interior color combination: Light Cashmere/Cocoa.
2009 Cadillac Escalade Hybrid: This is an all-new model for 2009. Cadillac calls the Escalade Hybrid the first full-size luxury hybrid SUV, which it is. It's also an Escalade that gets 50 percent better fuel economy in the city than the regular model.
Nearly all of the Escalade's standard comfort and convenience features are included as standard equipment on the hybrid model, including an 8-inch touchscreen navigation system that displays performance readouts of the two-mode hybrid system on the screen.
It also gets the same updates as the rest of the Escalade lineup, including a new side blind zone alert system, XM Satellite Radio with NavTraffic real-time traffic advisement, a power-tilting steering wheel and a new interior color combination: Light Cashmere/Cocoa.
Under the hood is GM's two-mode hybrid system that consists of an electrically variable transmission (EVT) and 300-volt nickel-metal hydride batteries. These work with the standard 6.0-liter V8 gasoline engine that features Active Fuel Management (AFM) and late-intake valve-closing (LIVC) technology. AFM enables the V8 engine to shut off half of its cylinders when less power is needed, such as during highway cruising. This new hybrid system also allows the Escalade Hybrid to drive low speeds on electricity alone. Two-wheel- and four-wheel-drive configurations are offered.
2009 Cadillac SRX: No changes.
2009 Cadillac STS: No changes.
2009 Cadillac STS-V: No changes.
2009 Cadillac XLR: For 2009, Cadillac's two-seater is only available as the fully loaded XLR Platinum, which was a top-of-the-line trim level introduced in 2008. Also new for 2009 are new front and rear fascias, new front fender vents, a new 18-inch wheel design and three new exterior colors: Black Cherry, Gray Flannel and Radiant Silver.
Inside, the XLR is improved with a leather-wrapped upper instrument panel, an Alcantara headliner, Natural Olive Ash burl wood trim and Quartz metal trim. A next-generation OnStar 8.0 with Destination Download with eNav and Bluetooth connectivity bring the XLR into the 21st century, as does the new iPod interface, which is available through Cadillac Accessories.
Wait, there's more. New instrument cluster trim rings and graphics and power window switches are also a welcome addition if you have eyes and fingers.
2009 Cadillac XLR-V: Still Cadillac's most expensive model at $100,000, the supercharged XLR-V remains essentially unchanged for 2009. Changes are limited to new front and rear fascias, new front fender vents, an Alcantara headliner, new Black Olive Ash burl wood interior trim and new Bermuda metal interior trim.
