GUANGZHOU, China — Shanghai General Motors said its redesigned Cadillac SLS will be the first General Motors model in China to be equipped with OnStar, which goes live in December. The SLS is debuting here at the 2009 Guangzhou Auto Show.

The second-generation SLS goes on sale this week in China, with four variants priced from $65,600-$102,200.

Buyers can choose from two new direct-injection V6 gasoline engines, including a 3.0-liter unit rated at 272 horsepower and a 3.6-liter unit that delivers 310 hp. Both engines are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with manual-shift capability.

The SLS interior has been extensively redesigned and features leather seats and such available amenities as a 15-speaker Bose audio system, intelligent navigation and a three-screen entertainment system with DVD and TV functions.

Technical highlights include adaptive forward lighting, a rearview parking camera, electronic stability control and remote engine start.
