Spy Photos: Cadillac BRX

DETROIT — Spy photographers today spotted a prototype for General Motors' latest Theta platform-based crossover vehicle. Based on numerous visible design cues, the prototype is expected to become the future Cadillac BRX.

The prototype clearly shows a chrome-trimmed side window that resembles the look of the new CTS, and a side character line that starts high at the C-pillar, heading downward as it progresses toward the front fender, a prominent styling cue on numerous Cadillac models, including the CTS, STS, XLR and Provoq concept.

The door handles follow the same downward path as on the latest Cadillac products, and the wheels are a seven-spoke design, a common Caddy trait found nowhere else in GM's current lineup. Finally, the rear light clusters seem to show a very sharp vertical edge beneath the camouflage that has some resemblance to the Provoq concept's fin-like taillamp design.

What this means to you: Although GMC is rumored to be receiving its own new crossover, it's pretty clear this one's all Cadillac. — Kelly Toepke, News Editor
