GUANGZHOU, China — BYD Auto has introduced a hatchback companion to its compact G3 sedan, called the G3R. The new five-door model goes on sale next spring in China, priced from just over $10,000.
BYD said the G3R will be offered with a choice of 1.5- or 1.8-liter four-cylinder engines, which can be coupled with either a five-speed manual or continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT).
BYD continues to flesh out its model range in China, with the addition of the M6 multipurpose vehicle, the premium L3 sedan and the midsize G6 sedan.
The automaker, based in Shenzhen, also plans to begin selling an all-electric bus called the K9.

BYD seems like it should be called BIYD or (Behind in Years Design). This looks equally as impressive as a 1994 Mazda Protege. Oh...wait...looks like they added HID lamps, this is WORLDS better! ;)

I always enjoy the names given to foreign vehicles.....the Geeley Gleagle comes to mind, or the GAK Trumpchi...really a smooth romantic feel compared to the BYD G3R..that leaves me cold....
