I like it just the way they have it here. Do not dumb this down or screw it up GM! They could always call a mid-level turbo model a Type-T like the late-80's regal coupes.

I say keep it 4 cylinder only. Not only are the turbo DI Ecotecs powerful, they are light, advanced, fuel efficient, and when in a car like this the Regal weighs the same as an EVO X. With simple ECU remappings you are looking at 290+hp and 340 lb-ft. I hope Buick offers the Regal in 4 stages: base 2.4, 220 hp 2.0T, 255 hp GS and 290 hp GSX!

I really really really like this car but given the Regal only offers 4cyl engines why not just keep the GS model a 4 cylinder? Just give it more power and torque, say 270hp and 270ftlbs out of the nive Ecotec turbo.
