    Just the Facts:
    • Buick has unveiled three-quarters of the new 2013 Encore compact crossover.
    • The full reveal comes next week at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show.
    • The Encore will compete with similar entries from Infiniti, Lexus and other premium brands.

DETROIT — Buick has unveiled three-quarters of the new 2013 Encore compact crossover, ahead of the car's full reveal next week at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show.

Buick has been teasing the new Encore in a series of Facebook photos. The latest photo — the third in a series of four — shows the rest of the car's face, including headlamps, grille and bumper, and front three-quarters.

The fourth and final image will be released on Facebook early next week just ahead of the official show introduction.

The 2013 Encore is a five-passenger compact crossover that is being widely referred to as the "baby Enclave," a reference to the full-size Buick crossover that is slated to get a significant face-lift for model year 2013.

I wonder if this thing is a re-badge of the Captiva - or Equinox?  I'm so done with GM... Ok - maybe I'll look at the Sonic, but that is it... Ha - I make myself laugh...

@openeyes1, who said, "Buick has a cult like following in China."

Funny, I'd say the same thing about Toyota and Honda in the United States.

The body style reminds me of the Saturn Vue with a Buick grille and the infamous portholes.

@wikiwiki; Buick has a cult like following in China, that goes back in time to the years before Mao came to power, so GM had to keep that brand. Its too bad that iconic cars like the Pontiac Firebird (Camaro clone), and the Pontiac GTO will never resurface again.

The Buick Rogue.  Do old people want this?  They can't step up that high to get in the seats.  Why did GM kill Pontiac again and keep Buick?

Wow. what could that last teaser panel be hiding?!? The suspense is killing me!

...could there be a side pipe that shoots flames?!
...could there be a square wheel?!
...could there be a cutout where people in the rear can stick their feet out the side?!
...could the back wheel be a different color than the front wheel?!
    The possiblities are so endless!

Please Buick, please oh please reveal that fourth quadrant already.....the suspense is killing me!

Just what models of Infiniti, Lexus and other luxury brands compare at all to this?  EX has 300hp and is more of a hatch than a CUV.  This will probably have the 180hp I4, maybe the turbo eventually if GM keeps that MO up.  Lexus has nothing comparable.  Acura has the RDX but that seems bigger and again more powerful.   BMW has the X3 but again is more powerful.  Maybe the only one that would match up very well would be the Audi Q5 with it's 210hp turbo four and price points in the $30s.  This will probably be in the $26-$33k range while the others are in the $32-$45k range.  If they come with the turbo right off the bat, decent MPG and the price and amenities are right this may make a decent entry point to the near luxury CUV world.
