GM Recalls 2009 Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia and Saturn Outlook

WASHINGTON — GM is recalling 16,667 2009 Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia and Saturn Outlook vehicles because they may have been built with a safety-belt buckle in the second or third row that is missing a rivet.

"In a vehicle crash, if the rivet is missing, the buckle may separate from the mounting strap," said the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in its recalls summary of the problem.

Dealers will inspect the safety-belt buckles in the second and third rows and replace them if necessary. The recall began on November 26. Owners may contact Buick at (866) 608-8080, Chevrolet at (800) 630-2438, GMC at (866) 996-9463 and Saturn at (800) 972-8876.

Inside Line says: If you own any of the aforementioned vehicles, have them checked out with your dealer ASAP. — Anita Lienert, Correspondent

I have a 2004 Trailblazer as does my friend (2005 or 2006) and the dashboard odometers and guages stick and will not function at all. we have tried to contact GM on numerous occasions to check on these issues but have had ZERO response and not ONE call returned to us. we also have other friends with Z-71 and Silverado trucks during these year frames which GM has fixed some of these on the trucks, which have the same guages but will not talk to the Trailblazer customers???????? WE ALL WANT TO KNOW WHY?? I have been told that it could be replaced for $2,500.00 by the dealership but that GM will not recall these for some reason??? I WAS about to purchase a new Z-71 Chervrolet truck again but will not even think about it until something is done with these other issues first.
My son has 2 Chevrolet trucks now a 1998 and a 2008 I only hope that he will have better luck and response than we all have had from GM, I am concerned how they will stand behind his new truck.
