2009 Shanghai Auto Show: Buick Business Concept

    1 Rating

SHANGHAI, China — General Motors says its Buick Business Concept, which made its debut here at the 2009 Shanghai Auto Show, embodies the brand's new "global design language." But the six-passenger MPV was designed in China and is clearly aimed at Chinese business executives.

The prosaically named Business Concept was developed at the Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center (PATAC), which is jointly operated by GM and China partner Shanghai Auto.

The vehicle is a large crossover with some unusual body curves and glass area, accentuated by a chrome strip that runs the length of each body side. The face is pure Buick, with a Chinese thrust, featuring a massive chrome grille and oversize LED headlamps.

The Business Concept is 6 inches longer than a Buick Enclave, and its wheelbase is 7 inches longer. The concept has twin full-length sunroofs, power sliding doors and frameless side glass. It rides on 20-inch forged aluminum wheels with low-profile 275/40R-20 tires.

The cabin is finished in deep burgundy suede and cream, with deep-pile carpets and ice-blue ambient lighting. There's a 3D instrument cluster up front and a center console with touchpad controls and a roller mouse.

The Business Concept was designed to accommodate GM's next-generation hybrid system, which mates an electric motor with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder gasoline direct injection engine and six-speed automatic transmission.

take this vehicle across the border to india and i guarentee it will be a big hit.indians are leftout with a small choice in this segment its either a toyota innova or a mahindra zylo.this car looks a lot better than the both and looks like can accomodate people in comfort.this will be a big hit in india no doubt.since there is no presence of buick in india make it a chevy, but dont loose the bold and muscular look.
