MONTEREY, California — The Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Sang Bleu celebrates, in breathtaking fashion, the 100th anniversary of the marque's establishment in 1909 by Ettore Bugatti.
The one-off design, based on the Veyron Grand Sport roadster announced in June, features an exclusive two-tone design theme that underscores its Sang Bleu (literally, "blue blood") nameplate: royal blue carbon fiber accented by polished aluminum.
The Grand Sport wheels also get a two-tone finish — Midnight Blue and Diamond Cut — while the rear air scoops are tinted royal blue. The cockpit is trimmed in gaucho leather.
The Sang Bleu is the latest in a series of unique models released to mark the brand's centennial. The Volkswagen group revived the marque, introducing the Veyron in 2006 in a limited run of 300 units.
Bugatti says it has sold 250 of those cars, including 20 Grand Sport models, and has delivered 215 cars to customers.
Inside Line says: The Sang Bleu has oodles of sang-froid. — Paul Lienert, Correspondent
