SHANGHAI, China — Brilliance China, the local partner of BMW, expects to unveil four new models at the 2009 Shanghai Auto Show, including a small electric car and several new derivatives of its compact Junjie FRV.
There are no details on the EV, other than that it is smaller than the FRV and that Brilliance hopes to begin selling it in China later this year.
According to the Beijing News, Brilliance also has developed new hybrid gas/electric models in its Zhonghua series.
Brilliance expects to put the new FRV Cross wagon and FRV sedan on sale in June in the domestic market. The standard FRV hatchback is sold in some export markets as the BS2.
Inside Line says: Brilliance, which made its first U.S. appearance in January at the Detroit show, is gradually filling out its product line. — Hu Lei, Correspondent
