Z3 Roadster Receives a Butt Lift
Geneva - In other Bimmer news, the freshened Z3 was also on hand in Geneva. According to Prof. Dr. Joachim Milberg, Chairman of the Board of Management of BMW AG, the revised Z3 will be launched for sale in April along with the new 3 Series coupe.
So what's changed? Don't worry; they didn't screw it up. The Z3's low waistline now rises upward toward the rear, then curves down again in an elegant, Jaguar-esque restyle. The most popular complaint about the Z3's styling -- that it appeared chopped-off and dull at the rear -- has been effectively addressed. Of all the products made by BMW -- including motorcycles -- the Z3 now has the most attractive rear.
L-shaped taillights frame the bottom corners of the trunk, another new BMW signature. The front styling has also been updated, but not so you'd notice. Kidney-shaped grilles now differ from model to model. Inside, the steering wheel is smaller and includes a two-stage airbag for safer deployment. Finally, the roof lining also gets some proper insulation for the first time. Now, about that plastic rear window...
