BECKINGEN, Germany — Hartge has given the 2-ton BMW X6 diesel more thrust and a new look with a new tuning program.

Tuning the BMW X6 xDrive35d, Hartge has raised the output of the twin-turbodiesel from 286 to 328 horsepower. Torque also rises from 425 to 498 pound-feet. Hartge says accelerating to 60 mph now comes in less than 6 seconds, almost a full second faster than the stock BMW X6. The company has also removed the electronic speed limiter and has measured a top speed of 159 mph.

A complete body kit includes wheel-arch extensions, side sills, a front spoiler and a rear fascia with integrated diffuser. The exterior is finished with carbon mirror housings, stainless-steel exhaust tips and Hartge emblems. Hartge's X6 is lowered nearly 1.2 inches on sport springs and rides on the company's 22-inch aluminum Classic 2 wheels.

The cabin is treated with a three-spoke leather and carbon steering wheel and new speedometer and tachometer with silver faces and red needles. Hartge also offers trim and accessories in carbon, aluminum and black velour. A full X6 Hartge conversion costs the equivalent of $38,000.
