G-Power has boosted X5 performance with a supercharger, aluminum intercooler, carbon-fiber intake manifold and performance exhaust system. Total output is now up to 525 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque from 335 hp and 350 lb-ft. Accelerating to 60 mph in the G-Power Typhoon comes in less than 5.0 seconds, and top speed is 171 mph.
The X5 style has been altered with a new front fascia and wider fenders. The rear is marked by a new apron, a diffuser and a spoiler said to reduce rear-axle lift. The Typhoon rocker panels feature blue LEDs underneath that light up when activated from the key fob or when a door handle is pulled. The topsides feature an illuminated G-Power logo. Wheels are 23 inches in diameter. The cockpit can be modified with a sport steering wheel, a new speedometer and aluminum accessories.
Inside Line says: There's a reason the company is called G-Power and not G-Style. — Eric Tingwall, Correspondent
