MUNICH, Germany — To go along with the recent launch of Forza Motorsport 4, BMW and Turn 10 Studios have announced a contest called BMW M5 Forza Cup that will give the fastest virtual German racers a chance to win a real 2012 BMW M5.

To enter, gamers register online. They can find the competition in a specially created Rivals Mode event in the game. From there, via Xbox LIVE or at select German retailers, participants will attempt to set their best hot lap time in a stock 2012 BMW M5 on the Nürburgring Grand Prix Circuit.

Microsoft and BMW will then choose the 12 fastest hot-lappers and pair them with four wild card winners in Munich at the BMW Welt, where they will compete in a grand finale race on November 26 for a brand-new 2012 BMW M5. The contest started October 14 and lasts until November 12.

The 2012 BMW M5 is featured on the cover of the Limited Collector's Edition of Forza Motorsport 4 and also takes the role of the hero car in the limited edition game.

Some of Forza 4's new features include Autovista mode, which uses Xbox Kinect and allows users to get a detailed look at 26 cars that have been fully rendered, and Rivals mode, where users can go head-to-head in races and interesting Top Gear challenges. The game has more than 500 cars and 100 tracks, and gives users the chance to use their Kinect sensors to drive.

The game is only available on Xbox 360 and costs $59.99 for the standard edition and $79.99 for the Limited Collector's Edition with the 2012 BMW M5 on the cover.

Inside Line says: Get behind the wheel of a new M5 virtually on Forza before it hits dealerships.

Seems a little unfair to anyone anywhere else in the world. By the way, if you read the first bullet, it does give you a heads up as to who the contest is available for.

    Slow news day?

I'm sure your German readers are appreciative, but linking to a site in German that describes a competition only open to German residents appears to be rubbing it in the faces of most people that will read this.
