Tuner Special: Vorsteiner BMW M3

SANTA ANA, California — Vorsteiner has released its new styling package called the GTS3 for both the BMW M3 sedan and coupe (E90 and E92, respectively).

The only performance mod is a titanium exhaust system that cuts 35 pounds of weight and increases output by 14 horsepower and 13 pound-feet of torque. That means the Bimmer's 4.0-liter V8 is good for 428 hp and just over 308 lb-ft of torque.

The kit's main features are a new front bumper and hood, and Vorsteiner can make the parts in plastic or carbon fiber if owners want to cut some weight. The aftermarket front bumper utilizes factory mounting points and hardware and features an expanded center intake, redesigned side ducting and a replaceable one-piece carbon-fiber splitter. Buyers also have the option of a two-piece carbon-fiber splitter.

Vorsteiner's carbon-fiber "power dome" hood is also bolted onto the vehicle, replacing the stock aluminum piece. It has two ventilation openings to keep the heat out as well as rolled carbon-fiber edges.

A rear diffuser, a trunk-lid spoiler, a variety of wheel options and carbon-fiber interior trim pieces are also available from the California-based tuner.

Inside Line says: Vorsteiner may not be the most well-known tuner, but it does know how to make an aggressive-looking body kit. — Mike Lysaght, Correspondent
